- If it came with one, yes. Start-stop systems depend on batteries built for constant restarting. The wrong type tends to fail early and can disable start-stop.

- Cold reduces how much power a battery can deliver at the moment the engine needs more to start. A battery that was getting weak in the fall often fails on the first hard freeze.
