BFS Auto Services is the only authorized Rivian service shop in Massachusetts. Both the facility and the technicians are certified, and we are the only certified shop in MA for EVs — specifically electric delivery vehicles.

What Authorization Actually Means

Authorized service is more than a label. It means we follow Rivian's service procedures, use the correct diagnostic tooling, and document work in a way that protects your vehicle's history and warranty coverage — whether that's a routine inspection, a tire rotation, or a more involved repair.

Electric Delivery Fleets

Our certification covers electric delivery vehicles, which is where our Boston Fleet Services background matters most. Commercial EVs live a punishing duty cycle, and keeping them in service takes both EV credentials and real fleet turnaround discipline.

Why It Matters in New England

New England weather, road salt, and winter driving put real demand on any EV. Having a certified Rivian shop close to home means less range spent on service trips, and a team that understands the conditions your vehicle actually lives in.

Call us with your VIN and the issue and we'll confirm what's covered before you drive over.

Frequently Asked

Are you really the only authorized Rivian shop in Massachusetts?+

Yes — BFS Auto Services is the only authorized Rivian service shop in Massachusetts. Certified Rivian technicians do work elsewhere; the distinction is that our facility itself carries the authorization.

Do you perform Rivian warranty work?+

Yes. Call us with your VIN and a description of the issue and we'll confirm coverage before your visit.

Can I service my Rivian here without affecting my warranty?+

Service at an authorized shop keeps your warranty intact and the work properly documented.

Do you service electric delivery vehicles?+

Yes — we're certified in Massachusetts for EVs, including electric delivery vehicles, and our fleet background means we understand uptime pressure.

What kinds of work does authorized Rivian service cover?+

Routine maintenance, inspections, tires and brakes, diagnostics with Rivian-specific tooling, and warranty-eligible repairs, all following Rivian's own service procedures. The work is documented into the vehicle's service history the way it should be. Call with your VIN and the issue and we'll confirm what's in scope for your vehicle.

Should I use mobile service or bring the vehicle to the shop?+

Rivian's mobile service handles a range of lighter items at your home or workplace. Anything needing a lift, wheel and tire equipment, alignment, or deeper diagnostic access has to happen in a shop — that's where we come in. If you're not sure which yours is, call and describe the symptom.

How do I schedule, and what do you need from me?+

Call us with your VIN, the mileage, and a description of what's happening, including any service messages the vehicle has shown. The VIN lets us check applicable coverage and any outstanding campaigns before you drive over. We're open Mon–Fri 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

What routine maintenance does a Rivian actually need?+

No oil changes, but plenty else: tire rotation and condition checks, brake inspection and caliper service, cabin air filter, coolant and thermal system checks, wiper and washer service, and periodic inspection of suspension and underbody hardware. New England salt makes the underbody and brake hardware checks matter more than owners expect.

Why do tires and brakes behave differently on a Rivian?+

It's a heavy vehicle with immediate torque, so tires wear faster and the correct load rating and construction genuinely matter. Regenerative braking means the friction brakes get used lightly, which sounds good but lets rotors and caliper hardware corrode over a salty winter. Both get looked at every visit.

Do you handle software updates and recall campaigns?+

Most Rivian software arrives over the air without a visit. Service campaigns and recalls that need hands on the vehicle are handled through authorized service — give us the VIN and we'll check what's outstanding for yours.

Does the manufacturer warranty still apply if you do the work?+

Yes. Service at an authorized shop keeps Rivian's own warranty coverage intact and the work properly documented, which is exactly why the authorization exists.
